GRACE has never been an important part of government and politics. To the contrary, until now government has always been about power and control. Rarely since ancient times have leaders truly had the interests of the people at heart.
We feel that the time has come to test our government institutions and leaders against the GRACE lying as the foundation of the common law based upon the Old Testament. No one except Nelson Mandela comes anywhere close to operating from Grace, since the death of John F. Kennedy.
CONSCIENCE AND GRACE IN ECONOMICS. IS IT POSSIBLE?
Everything in the universe is composed of pure, ordered energy. Some things are ordered by the creative energy itself. The world of inanimate objects is so ordered. To a lessor degree, sentient beings have their own ‘marching orders’, some with little freedom, and some with more. Mysteriously, many things are ordered by the choices of each individual human being, each having been given life-long choices to feed either the black wolf inside, or the white wolf. And no one can serve two masters at the same time. This is precisely why apparently ‘good’ men and women can sometimes do ‘bad’ things, and apparently ‘bad’ persons sometimes do altruistic things. As the white rabbit said to Alice, “If you don’t know where you’re going, then any place will do.” That’s present politics in New Zealand. At every level.
Grace and Conscience are basically the very same thing, both burned deeply into our dna. Having ‘Grace’ as an option is quite different from actually ‘living’ it minute after minute, hour after hour, and day after day. Anyone can call on conscience for guidance at any time, but few rarely do, having been seduced by emotion, culture, experience and pain from a very young age. The more painful our experiences of childhood, the further away from Grace and conscience we drift. However, Grace is always close at hand when truly needed, and never refuses a legitimate invitation.
Grace, in a religious sense, is something far different from conscience, bringing with it added limitations and added bonuses. Grace puts a very big price on bad choices, making it difficult to enjoy the rewards of Grace while refusing its guidance. No one in politics today is promoting Grace in economics, because apparently it does not sell well against sex, violence, greed, racialism and separatism. And yet, should a single politician ring the ‘bell’ of Grace, and test all economic policy against the laws of Grace and Conscience, we may very well experience a tsunami of new popular support. Truth and Grace cut deeply, and everyone has the means to test political policy against their own remaining subtle Grace.
1 For example, who could rightly complain if ALL wage and income taxes were suddenly dropped? That would be fair and beneficial for all, with neither labour nor capital suffering unfairly.
2 What Kiwi could rightly complain if foreigners were prohibited from buying Kiwi real estate? That would tend to lower home prices for Kiwis.
3 3 What Kiwi could rightly complain if all offshore money transfers- save that going to purchase capital items or stock in trade from offshore- were charged GST? Foreign investors and corporations would finally pay for their former right to do business here, and this would relieve the tax burden from real Kiwis.
4 What Kiwi could rightly complain if our own Reserve Bank created and spent the $50 B of new interest-free money needed to counter the deflation created by the resulting economic growth? This is needed to stabilize currency values with 0 inflation and 0 deflation.
5 5 What Kiwi could rightly complain if every man, woman, and child were given a $200 per week National Dividend- on top of tax free earnings- by which to create the life of their dreams? That’s real feedom. For everyone.
6 6 No income or wage taxes would inject $50 B into the private economy. GST on luxury purchases would force the majority into savings, investment, and production rather than consumption. New interest-free money spent into the National Dividend would provide exactly the demand needed to absorb the new supplies of goods and services. Unemployment would disappear. Depressed rural areas would prosper. Labour and capital would bargain equally. Interest on debt would plummet to around 1.5%. The government could properly regulate industrial pollution without being reliant on industrial taxes. And with these simple six steps Grace would suddenly gain ascendancy in politics. Who could resist Grace, or outbid it?
